RADIOACTIVE IODINE IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF THYROID DISORDERS (in Spanish)

The results of seven years study on the use of radioiodine in the diagnosis of thyroid disorders are tabulated and discussed briefly. I/sup 131/ capture, proteic iodine, conversion index, and saliva index were measured for various thyroid disorders. The method used for the measurement of the saliva index is described, and it is concluded that this test gives the best results for hypofunction disorders. (J.S.R.)
