HAZARDS CONTROL QUARTERLY REPORT NO. 10, JULY-SEPTEMEBER 1962

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4747701
Work is reported on solid state counting of airborne alpha radioactivity samples. A transistorized neutron monitoring system with remote readout is described. Development of a ( gamma ,n) reaction for differentiation of hydride and deuteride compounds is reported. Use of radioactive NH/sub 4/OH aerosols to monitor off-gas cleaning equipment is described. Tests are reported on filters in which it was found that prefiltration does not extend the life of high- efficiency items. A fire-resistant inlet air filter was designed for metal glove boxes. Other activities include installation of a personnel respirator fitting facility, testing of flooring materials for high-explosive handling areas, and coating studies. (J.R.D.)
