THE THERMAL PROPERTIES OF TWENTY-SIX SOLID MATERIALS TO 5000 F OR THEIR DESTRUCTION TEMPERATURES

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4746813
The thermal expansion, heat capacity, thermal conductivity, total normal emittance, electric resistivity, and thermoelectric voltage were investigated for 26 refractory materials, including the borides, carbides, nitrides, oxides, ATJ graphite, tungsten, and alloys of molybdenum and niobium. The temperature range was from 500 to 5000 deg F. In addition to these thermophysical properties, the density, chemical analysis before and after temperature exposure, and microscopic pictures before and after temperature exposure, are included to define the materials and assist in the analysis of the data.
