REGGE TRAJECTORIES FOR YUKAWA POTENTIALS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4745767
The trajectories of the poles for an attractive Yukawa potential are described. A repulsive potential is also considered along with the effect of a hard core which dominates the centrifugal barrier at the origin. Other discussion is included concerning the case of potentials that can be represented by a superposition of Yukawas, for which certain relations between the energy at which a Regge curve can cross the real 1-axis and the potential strength. These crossing points are shown to be indeterminacy points in the S-matrix, which play a vital role in the behavior of the Regge trajectories in the left-hand lambda plane (where lambda = 1 + 1/2).
