Sintering and Properties of Uranium and Thorium Monosulfides

Technical Report ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.2172/4745603· OSTI ID:4745603
Monosuifide powders were prepared by reacting powder, resulting from hydriding-dehydriding of metal turnings, with H2S. Specimens were isostatically pressed and fired. Sintering studies, lattice parameters, and groove etching are discussed. The following properties were determined: melting point, electric resistivity, thermal conductivity, oxidation behavior, and compatibility with metals.
