THE MORTALITY OF MOUSE EMBRYOS AFTER WHOLE-BODY X IRRADIATION WITH 200 r IN THE PREIMPLANTATION PERIOD

One hundred twelve white mice were exposed to wholebody x irradiation with 200 r during the preimplantation period. Prenatal mortalities of the embryos of 52 and 14 percent were observed for the irradiated animals and the controls respectively. The explanations for this high mortality are given. (Gmelin Inst)
