EFFECTIVE MUTUAL FRICTION BETWEEN THE SUPERFLUID AND NORMAL COMPONENTS OF He II ALONG THE AXIS OF ROTATION (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Zh. Eksperim. i Teor. Fiz.
OSTI ID:4745019
Waves moving along vortex lines distort them. In contrast to the case when the normal component moves along a straight vortex line (which leads to a zero value of mutual friction), movement of the normal component along a curved line gives rise to a nonzero mutual friction between the two components. Data pertaining to measurement of this quantity under conditions of artificial generation of waves are presented. (auth)
