EFFECTS OF REABSORPTION ON THE LUMINESCENCE DECAY LAW OF ANTHRACENE CRYSTAL

Journal Article · · Opt. Spectr. (USSR) (English Transl.)
OSTI ID:4744276
The luminescence decay of anthracene crystal under gamma - and photoexcitation is measured by the method of reflecting pulses in shorted lines. It is shown that the decay is nonexponential. A decay law that takes the effects of reabsorption and secondary luminescence into consideration is derived on a theoretical basis. The deviations from the exponents that are observed experimentally agree qualitatively with those anticipated from the theory. (auth)
