THE EFFECT OF COUPLING TO n = 3 STATES ON BORN 1s-2s AND 1s-2p e-H COLLISION CROSS SECTIONS

Journal Article · · Proc. Phys. Soc. (London)
Total cross sections for the 1s-2s and 1s-2p excitations are presented and compared with the Born cross sections, the results of Burke and Seaton (1961), and the results of the close-coupiing approximation calculations. It is noted that the inclusion of couplings to n = 3 states has a very small effect on the cross sections. (W.D.M.)
