The analyticity domain of the scattering amplitude A(l,s) as a function of the complex angular momentum l and the complex energy variable s has been investigated on the basis of the Mandelstam representation and of the unitarity and reality conditions. The analyticity domain thus obtained has been proved to be a domain of holomorphy. It is possible to continue analytically with A(l,s) into the second and into the higher Rieman sheets where A(l,s) may have simple poles there. This Rieman manifold consists in general of infinitely many sheets, except for cases of integer l where only two sheets exist. In this connection, the low energy theorem for A(l,s) has been derived. 21 references. (auth)
