The purpose of the conference was to allow an exchange of information on the operating characteristics of several recently completed machines, to facilitate the exchange of information by groups which were interested in meson factories,'' and to aid groups which were considering the acquisition of cyclotrons to evaluate the scope and cost of such a program.
