THE SPHERICAL HARMONICS METHOD FOR THERMAL UTILISATION IN CYLINDRICAL CELLS

Formulas are given for the spherical harmonics approximation, of arbitrary odd order, to the problem of one velocity neutron transport, with sources, in a multilayer cylindrical region with complete axial symmetry. The problem is reduced explicitly to the solution of a set of inhomogeneous linear equations for the moments in any one region at one of the interfaces. (auth)
