ANALYSIS OF GAS-LIQUID FLOW PATTERNS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4742587
Gas-liquid flow in closed ducts is examined from the standpoint of the dominant physical forces acting on the system. Dimensionless criteria are developed in terms of the mixture Froude and Weber numbers for the prediction of the major flow patterns. These theoretical results are compared with the empirical correlation of Baker and are considered to be a significant improvement in the treatment of gas-liquid flow patterns. (auth)
