Results are presented from measurements of I/sup 131/, Sr/sup 89/ Sr/sup 90/, Cs/sup 137/, and Ba/sup 140/ in foodstuffs in the United Kingdom during 1961 and 1962. Data are included from experimental studies of the mechanisms by which radioactive substances may be tranaferred into human diet. Emphasis was placed on transfer in soils, plants, and domestic animals. (C.H.)
