High-Current Fast-Triggering System for Spark Chambers

Journal Article · · Review of Scientific Instruments

A three-electrode spark gap, which is triggered by a power tube, is designed as a triggering device for spark chambers. The spark gap is illuminated by uv light, in order to suppress jitter during the gap breakdown. The time lag between the coincidence input (caused by particle traversal of the spark chamber) and breakdown of the spark chamber is always less than l00 nsec. (T.F.H.)
