LIFETIMES OF THE FIRST EXCITED STATES OF B$sup 10$, O$sup 17$ AND F$sup 17$. PART I

Journal Article · · Nuclear Physics (Netherlands) Divided into Nucl. Phys. A and Nucl. Phys. B
The lifeti mes of the first excited states of B/sup 10/, O/sup 17/, and F/sup 17/ are measured by the delayed-coincidence method using a pulsed beam. The measured mean lives are: (1.00 plus or minus 0.03) x 10/sup -9/ sec (B/sup 10/), (4.30 plus or minus 0.21) x 10/sup -10/ sec (O/sup 17/ ), and (4.29 plus or minus 0.22) x 10/sup -10/ sec (F/sup 17/). The chief theoretical treatments of quadrupole enhancement are reviewed, and their predictions compared with the experimental results. (auth)
