NUMBER SPECTRUM OF EXTENSIVE AIR SHOWERS AT SEA LEVEL

Journal Article · · J. Phys. Soc. Japan
OSTI ID:4739501

A G-M counter arrangement was used to observe extensive air showers of various mean sizes at sea level. It is concluded that the integral number spectrum for the vertical intensity of showers at sea level can be presented by J/ sub v/(>N) = 7.50 x 10/sup 4/ x N/sup -1.4/ m/sup -2/ h/sup -1/ sterad/sup -1/ for N < 2 x 10/sup 5/ and J/sup v/(7N) = 2.85 x 10/sup 6/ x N/sup -1.7/ m/sup 2/ h/sup -1/ sterad/sup -1/ for 2 x 10/sup 5/ < N < 10/sup 7/.
