Title: RADIATIONS FROM SHORT-LIVED RARE GAS FISSION PRODUCTS

Journal Article · · Journal of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry (England) Merged with Inorg. Nucl. Chem. Lett. to form Polyhedron

The energies of the primary gamma rays emitted in the decay of 3.2 min Kr/sup 89/, 33 sec Kr/sup 90/, 1.2 min Rb/sup 91m/, 41 sec Xe/sup 139 and 66 sec Cs/sup 140/ were determined and relative gamma -ray intensities measured. Photon per disintegration values were estimated for Kr/sup 89/, Kr/sup 90/, Xe/ sup 139/, and for 9.5 min Cs/sup 139/. BETA -ray energy endpoints were measured for Kr/sup 89/, Kr/sup 90/, Xe/sup 139/ , and Cs/sup 139/, and lower limits established for the decay energies of these nuclides. A simple and rapid gas chromatographic separation which was developed for these studies is described. (auth)
