EXPERIMENTAL ORGANIC COOLED REACTOR SAFETY ANALYSIS REPORT. VOLUMES I AND II
A description of the EOCR is presented in which safety and accident analyses are included. The EOCR is a 40-Mw facility designed and constructed to develop information in the field of organic reactor technology. Results of analyses show that the system is stable under normal conditions and that its instrumentation is able to detect departures from acceptable conditions and effect corrective measures before serious damage occurs. The information is presented in parts on engineering description, reactor physics and engneering, operations, hazards of organic coolants, nuclear safety analyses, postulated mechanical accidents, and supporting information. It is concluded that the EOCR can be operated safely at powers up to 40 Mw. (J.R.D.)
