TER4--REACTOR TRANSIENT ANALYSIS PROGRAM

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4735529
TER4 is an open loop reactor transient program which determines reactor power and temperature transients resulting from the insertion or removal of reactivity. By open loop is meart that feedback from the secondary system is neglected. Reactivity may be inserted or removed by control rod motion and/or changes in reactor coolant temperature combined with the temperature coefficient effect. The space independent, one energy group, reactor kinetics equations wfth six delayed neutron groups are solved using Euler's method. For the thermal calculations, a one dimensional heat transfer model of a one pass reactor is employed. The number of nodes in both the axial and radial directions is variable. Only the nominal channel is considered. Program output includes reactor power level, total reactivity, reactor period, reactor rate, nominal channel temperatures (coolant, clad, and fuel), and integrated reactor power. (auth)
