The phase equilibrium of the liquid and solid phases of He/sup 3/ solutions in He/sup 4/ were investigated. For obtaining the data needed for determining the phase diagram of the system, thermal analysis experiments were carried out, determining the correlation between the solidification pressure and the composition of the liquid phase. A carbon resistance thermometer was used for the temperature measurements while the pressure was calculated from the elastic deformation of the walls of the calorimeter. Solutions containing 10.3, 24.1, 53.0, and 76.4% He/sup 3/ were studied, together with pure He/sup 4/ used for calibrating the instruments at temperatures ranging from 1.5 to 4.2 deg K and pressures up to 140 atm. The average error did not exceed 0.01 deg and 0.5 atm. Results showed that increasing the concertration of the lighter isotope in the solution caused an increase of the incipient solidification pressure throughout the examined temperature range. The data obtained made it possible to plot the liquidus curve of the system. The equilibrium diagram of the solid and liquid phases probably possesses a narrow stratification region. The data agree with the findings reported by C. Le Pair et al. (Physica, 28: 305(1962)). Work is in progress on the determination of the terminal pressure of the solidification of He/sup 3/ solutions In He/sup 4/. (TTT)
