The hydrogen yield from the Co/sup 60/ gamma radiolysis of borazole was constant (G(H/sub 2/) = 0.36) from -196 to -120 deg and then increased to 2.90 at 30 deg . Diphenylpicrylhydrazyl scavenger experiments indicated a yield of 7.5 plus or minus 0.5 radicals per 100 ev absorbed. At 24 deg , borazole decomposed thermally, producing hydrogen at a rate of 4 x 10/sup -8/ moles/l-sec for 24-hr periods. The decomposition reaction at 30.8 and 40.8 deg appeared to be autocatalytic since the rate of hydrogen production increased with time. (auth)
