ON THE ENERGY SPECTRUM OF (p,2p) REACTIONS
Calculations are presented to show thnt the details of the spectrum of the summed energies of the two emerging protons in (p,2p) reactions are simply related to the configuration mixing of the individual particle shell-model. The summed energy spectra is shown for Li/sup 6/(p,2p)He/sup 5/, p)Be/sup 9/ reactions, and factors that determine the relative intensity of different peaks corresponding to protons knocked out of the same shell are evaluated and discussed.
