THE ABSORPTION, LUMINESCENCE, AND LASER ACTION OF NEODYMIUM IN SrF$sub 2$ CRYSTALS

The absorption and luminescence spectra and the laser action of Nd/sup 3+/ in strontium fluoride single crystals were observed. The absorption spectra were measured at 300 un. Concent 85% K. The wavelengths of the most intense lines in the SrF/sub 2/: Nd luminescence spectra were observed at 77 un. Concent 85% K. The laser spectrum contains only one line that coincides exactly with the luminescence line at 1.044 . (C.E.S.)
