The 6-yr operation of the LTI 15-Mev betatron has shown that the battery of capacitors reliably functions in the circuit of a magnet with a reactive power of 300 kva and a voltage of 3 kv. The magnetic field, adjusted by the selection of compensating turns in the stands of the magnet, did not change appreciably in the process of operation. The system of stabilization of electron energy, which was constructed in view of unstable voltage in the network and yields a good energy resolution ( plus or minus 10 kv), is presented. The system is simple, stable in operation, consists of standard components, and needs only two supply sources. At present, a system is being tested to make it possible to insert specimens into the chamber for irradiation without destroying the vacuum. In this system, targets are fastened on a hollow cylindrical Al chamber which is introduced into the betatron chamber by means of a bellows-sealed accessory. (OTS)
