IRRADIATION OF AN Fe-Ni (50-50%) ALLOY WITH 1-Mev ELECTRONS (in French)

Journal Article · · Compt. Rend.
OSTI ID:4727391
A polycrystalline sample of Fe--Ni was irradiated with 1-Mev electrons at 280 deg C under a magnetic field. The uniaxial magnetic anisotropic energy, obtained as a function o the dose, showed the disorder-order transformation from the acceleration of diffusion processes created by faults created during irradiation. The kinetics of the isothermal anneal at 120 deg C after a bombardment at 20 deg C with a dose of 4 x 10/sup 18/ e/cm/sup 2/ was studied with the application of a magnetic field in the same direction as the field applied during the irradiation. The increase of the anlsotropy energy was measured as a function of time. The kinetics of anneal is very well represented by a logarithmic function as in the case of neutron irradiation. (J.S.R.)
