A small amount of U is not separated in the caustic precipitation of U in the carbonate leach solution and tends to collect on the pulp filters together with the tailings when the barren liquor is used as wash liquid prior to regeneration and recycle. A method for preventing this post-precipitation until after regeneration comprises treating the barren liquor with H/sub 2/O/sub 2/ in an amount of 0.3 to 1 g/g U/sub 3/O/sub 8/. (D.L.C.)
