GAMMA RAYS FROM LITHIUM BOMBARDMENT OF Be$sup 9$, B$sup 10$,B$sup 11$, AND C$sup 1$$sup 2$

Journal Article · · Physical Review (U.S.) Superseded in part by Phys. Rev. A, Phys. Rev. B: Solid State, Phys. Rev. C, and Phys. Rev. D
Relative intensities of gamma rays produced in the bombardment of Be/sup 9/, B/sup 10/, B/sup 11/, and C/sup 12/ targets by Li/sup 6/ and Li/sup 7/ beams were obtained with a three-crystal pair spectrometer and with a single NaI(Tl) crystal. Gamma rays were observed from excited states in the residual nuclei Li/ sup 7/, Be/sup 10/, B/sup 10/, B/sup 11/,B/sup 12/,C/sup 12/, C/sup 13/, C/sup 14/ , N/sup 14/, N/sup 15/, O/su p 15/, O/sup 16/, and O/sup 17/. Some of these gamma rays were not observed previously. Relative populations deduced from the data are discussed. (auth)
