DEVELOPMENT OF A TANDEM VAN DE GRAAFF ACCELERATOR FOR PROTONS OF 2 Mev (in German)

Journal Article · · Nukleonik (West Germany) Discontinued with vol. 12
OSTI ID:4726372
The construction and performance of a tandem Van de Graaff accelerator working under atmospheric pressure for protons with energies up to 2 Mev are described. The proton current is, at present, approximately 0.35 amp. The particle current at the collector is composed principally of protons with energy E and neutral hydrogen with energy E/2. The ion optical properties of the accelerator tube, as well as the mode of operation and yield of the ion charge in a gas, were calculated and experimentally tested. (tr-auth)
