PLUTONIUM IN THE SWEDISH POWER REACTOR PROGRAM

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4726296
It is noted that the Swedish reactor development program is relatively slow and is devoted largely to heavy water systems. Sweden has great reserves of low-grade U ore but no known Th. No U isotope separation plant is available or planned for Sweden. A review of the state of research in Sweden is presented along with discussions of fuels and fuel cycles, the economic potential of Pu, and technical problems associated with Pu fuel development.
