The Amouyal and Benoist method for the calculation of the f factor of the thermal utilization of a cylindrical reactor cell was generalized from 2 to n zones. The results for a three-zone cell were compared with those of a P/sub 1/ and P/sub 3/ calculation. The escape probabilities for hollow cylinders were given in the appendix in the form of tables and approximation polynomials. (tr- auth)
