FAST NEUTRON SURVEY METER (Engineering Materials)

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4725854

This transistorized, portable survey meter detects fast neutrons in a moderately high gamma field and is designed for use in radiological surveys in the areas of reactors, accelerators, and large neutron sources. Readout for the meter is in the form of count-rate, calibrated in mr/hr. The instrument and batteries weigh 6 lb 12 oz. Full scale counting loss is 1.75%. There is no zero drift, and the calibration drift is less than 10% from the combined effects of temperature and battery-voltage changes. (F.L.S.)
