The patent relates to boiling reactors of the kind comprising tubular nuclear fuel elemerts. These fuel elements may have the shape of straight tubes or any other shape, e.g., of a single or double spiral. According to a first embodiment cooling liquid is fed into tubular fuel elements where it evaporates, the formed vapor being led along the outside of the fuel elements where it is superheated. According to a second embodiment the vapor is formed by evaporating the liquid occupying the space between the fuel elements, the vapor flowing afterwards through the tubular fuel elements where it is superheated. Suitably in the reactor according to the second embodiment a liquid-vapor mixture formed in the space between the fuel elements ia led to a vapor drum where the vapor is separated from the liquid, this vapor being fed into the fuel elements.
