COMPLEX ANGULAR MOMENTUM IN RELATIVISTIC DISPERSION THEORY

Journal Article · · Phys. Letters
BS>Discussed are the singularities of relativistic partial wave scattering amplitudes in the complex angular momentum plane. It is shown that, for points in the finite plane, these singularities are determined by the high energy limits of the absorption parts in the two crossed channels. The analytic properties of the pole trajectories and the residues are examined. These functions are shown to have no left-hand branch points, which are present in the S-plane of the partial wave amplitudes F/sub plus or minus (S, lambda ), where S is the energy variable and lambda is the angular momentum variable. The functions F/sub plus or minus /(S, lambda ) are seen to have left-hand branch points in S that are not present in the physical partial wave amplitude F(S,l). (H.D.R.)
