The subject of remote handling is discussed. An extensive search was made of existing technical literature plus personal and letier contacts of many of the major remote handling equipment suppliers throughout the United States. A general description of the types of remote handling equipment in existence, illustrations and specifications of standard manipulators available, lists of remote handling equipmert manufacturers throughout the world and a comprehensive bibliography of available literature are presented. Technological progress and advanced developmental concepts in the field of remote manipulation are also described. (auth)
