ISOMORPHIC SUBSTITUTIONS OF CALCIUM BY STRONTIUM IN CALCIUM HYDROXYAPATITE

In an investigation concerning the separation of Sr from aqueous solutions, the synthesis of crystalline solid solutions of calcium strontium hydroxyapatite from aqueous systems was effected. Results indicate that the discrimination of Sr against Ca is small and that Sr is preferentially built into the c-axis direction of the apatite lattice. (J.R.D.)
