ON THE RESPONSE OF THE IONIZATION CHAMBERS TO PULSED GAMMA RADIATION (in Italian)

Journal Article · · Energia Nucl. (Milan)
OSTI ID:4722924
The response of the ionization chambers to pulsed gamma radiation was studied, using frequencies of 1, 5, 10, and 20 p/s, and collection voltage from 5 to 700 v. It was found that, for the same collected voltage, the collected charge per pulse decreases with increasing frequency, but is almost independent of the latter for voltages greater than 200 v. Within the limits of the described experiment, the agreement with the Boag's theory is satisfactory for collection efficiencies greater than 0.9. (auth)
