LOW LATITUDE FIELD ALIGNED IONIZATION OBSERVED BY THE ALOUETTE TOPSIDE SOUNDER

Journal Article · · Planetary Space Sci.
Unusual features are observed in ionograms recorded at low latitudes. Radio waves are reflected from an overdense region of ionization that lies along a magnetic field line. The variation in height of the irregularities as a function of latitude is depicted. The range of the echoes reflected by the irregularities has a well-defined maximum. (C.E.S.)
