C/sup 13/ is concentrated by molecular distillation of methyl alcohol at -95 un. Concent 85% C. The apparatus used is a Dewar vessel type still consisting of two glass vessels, one within the other. Methyl alcohol evaporates in the outer vessel and freezes on the chilled inner vessel. The distillation is operated with various cuts from 8 to 145 and the enrichment factor from 1.022 to 1.048 yielding concentrated C/sup 13/ in the residue. On the assumption that the vapor pressures of isotopic methyl alcohols are the same, the singlestage separation factor is determined to be 1.010 and the efficiency about 60%. (auth)
