SOLVENT EXTRACTION OF CESIUM BY DIPICRYLAMINE

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4721968
>Various possible solvents for extraction of cesium from basic process waste solutions are described, and dipicrylamine was found to be a satisfactory and selective extractant for cesium. The extracted cesium is readily stripped wtth dilute acid. The separation factors of cesium from rubidium, potassium, and sodium are approximates 6, 28, and 2500, respectively. The effects of organic diluent, dipicrylamine concentration, sodium concentration, and temperature on the extraction were studied. (D.L.C.)
