Y$sup 89$$($$gamma$,n)Y$sup 88$ THRESHOLD AND THE Zr$sup 90$-Sr$sup 88$ MASS DIFFERENCE

Journal Article · · Nuclear Physics (Netherlands) Divided into Nucl. Phys. A and Nucl. Phys. B

The Y/sup 89/( gamma ,n) thresholds to both the ground and first excited state of Y/sup 88/ are observed. The excited state threshold when combined with the known excitation energy of Y/sup 88/ leads to a ground state threshold energy of 11.54 plus or minus 0.04 Mev. This result when coupled with other reaction energies leads to a value of 1.999682 amu for the Zr/sup 90/-Sr/sup 88/ mass difference. This value disagrees with the mass spectroscopic determination of the Zr/sup 90/- Sr/sup 88/ mass difference by 200 mu mu. A value is also given for the Zr/sup 90/( gamma ,n)Zr/sup 89/ threshold (11.94 plus or minus 0.05 Mev). (auth)
