A system for translating the position of a strip-chart recorder potentiometer shaft into decimal digital form is described. By means of a paper tape punch, measurements of fuel element dimensions are thereby recorded in a medium convenient for computer analysis. Speed and reliability of data handling are greatly increased compared with formerly used clerical methods. (auth)
