ON THE CALCULATION OF THE COLLISION PROBABILITY IN REGULAR ROD LATTICES (in German)
The collision probability in regular lattices of cylindrical rods can be approached in the manner in which the collision probability in a cylindrical cell with equal volume is determined. At the cell border the boundary conditions for the angular distribution must be so formulated for externally incident neutrons that the neutron distribution in the rod lattice can be approximated very well by the model of the cylindrical cell. The condition with exact reflection on the cylindrical cell boundary according to Takahaski leads to systematic errors, which especially for wide lattices and large free paths in the region between the rods, can be observed. Better results are yielded by the conditions with isotropic reflection on the cylindrical cell boundary for which these errors do not appear. A method is given from which simple proximity formulas can be obtained. (tr-auth)
