The behavior of certain aluminum alloys for cladding purposes was evaluated by testing the corrosion properties of welded specimens in flowing water for 1150 to 5000 hr at temperatures of 160 and 210 deg C. The fabrication problems, especially welding techniques were closely studied. End closures for cladding tubes were satisfactorily welded. One of the tested alloys, containing Si as the major alloying element, exhibited superior corrosion properties compared with the other alloys tested. (Atomdokumentation, 14 : No. 13, Nov. 1962)
