DESIGN AND OPERATION OF LABORATORY TYPE PARALLEL PLANE CESIUM THERMIONIC CONVERTERS

Journal Article · · Advan. Energy Conversion
OSTI ID:4716032
Two parallel-plane converters are described. Evidence presented suggests that an auxiliary discharge to a guard ring increases the output power of these converters. While driving one tube with a 60 cps transformer, a current of 110 amp/cm/sup 2/ was drawn at an emitter temperature of 2000 un. Concent 85% K and with the collector 1.5 v positive with respect to the emitter. (auth)
