STUDY OF SOME EXCITED LEVELS OF Be$sup 9$ BY INELASTIC ELECTRON SCATTERING

Journal Article · · Nuclear Physics (Netherlands) Divided into Nucl. Phys. A and Nucl. Phys. B
Inelastic scattering of high energy electrons from Be/sup 9/ was observed. Three levels at 1.6, 2.47, and 6.4 Mev above the ground state are excited by E1, E2, and E2 transitions, respectively. The radiative widths of the inverse transition were found to be (4.5 450 deg C in a 0.6); (2.6 450 deg C in a 0.1) 10/sup -3/, and (0.109 450 deg C in a 0.005) ev. No other levels were observed up to 17 Mev excitation energy. The 2.47 and 6.4 Mev levels seem to be members of a rotational band K = 3/2- based on the ground state. (auth)
