URANIUM SOLUBILITY IN LIQUID GALLIUM, INDIUM, THALLIUM AND LEAD

The solubility of uranium in liquid gallium, indium, thallium, and lead was determined by sampling the saturated solutions. The solubilities are expressed by the empirical equations: in Ga (420 to 649 deg C), log (at.% U) = 3.571 - 3823 T/sup -1/; in In (455 to 720 deg C), log (at.% U) =3.781-5146 T/sup - 1/; in Tl (400 to 854 deg C), log (at.% U) = 4.184-5728 T/sup -1/; and in Pb (416 to 802 deg C), log (at.% U) = 3.921 - 5121 T/sup -1/.
