Critical amplitudes in two-dimensional theories

Using recent thermodynamic Bethe ansatz results, we derive exact analytical expressions for the critical amplitudes in the scaling laws for the fermion condensate and for the mass gap in the Schwinger model with two light flavors. Numerically, {l_angle}{bar {psi}}{psi}{r_angle}={minus}0.388{hor_ellipsis}m{sup 1/3}g{sup 2/3}, M{sub gap}=2.008{hor_ellipsis}m{sup 2/3}g{sup 1/3}. The same is done for the standard square lattice Ising model at T=T{sub c}. We get {l_angle}{sigma}{sup lat}{r_angle}=1.058{hor_ellipsis}h{sub lat}{sup 1/15} for the magnetization and M{sub gap}=1/{xi}=4.010{hor_ellipsis}h{sub lat}{sup 8/15} for the inverse correlation length. The theoretical prediction for {l_angle}{sigma}{sup lat}{r_angle} is in perfect agreement with numerical data. Two available numerical papers give the values of M{sub gap} which differ from each other by a factor {approx}{radical}(2). The theoretical result agrees with one of them. {copyright} {ital 1997} {ital The American Physical Society}
