A MOISTURE METER (in Japanese)

Journal Article · · Proc. Japan Conf. Radioisotopes
OSTI ID:4711134
The moisture content of ore of iron is measured. The sample contains mainly Fe/sub 2/O/sub 3/ (Fe 60%, C 4%). The sample, whose moisture content is known, is put in a container of 40 cm x 40 cm x 70 cm in depth, and in its center a moisture probe of scintillation type is inserted. The probe is connected to a linear rate meter. The moisture probe consists of a LiI(Eu) scintillator of 2.5 cm diameter x 1.3 cm thickness. RaD(5mc)-Be is employed as the fast neutron source, because the LiI scintillator is very sensitive to gamma radiation. (T.F.H.)
