Testing of A Simple Model for a Boiling-Water Reactor; UBERPRUFUNG EINES EINFACHEN MODELLS FUR EINEN WASSERKOCHER-REAKTOR
A simple model for the dynamic behavior of the Frankfurt Research Reactor (FRF) was reproduced on an analog computer. The constants of the raodels were ascertained by experiraents on the FRF. In order to check the model, transition curves of the output as a result of the slope function of the reactivity were calculated. They were compared with transition curves determined experimentally on the FRF up to reactivity changes of 31. The coraparison showed that the model represented well the output maxima and the trend of the transition curves in the region considered. The best agreement between calculation and experiment was obtained with a temperature coefficient of alpha = --4.54 x 10/sup -2/ dollar/ deg C and a stationary output coefficient for the radiolytically formed bubbles of --2.98 x 10/sup -3/ dollar/kw. The model may be used for investigation of control mechanisms and for the treatraent of safety questions for reactivity changes of 0 to 0.45 dollar. (tr-auth)
